"Faith of Six Million" by Mark Mendick

Yelling,
banging at
the door. On to
the cool, rough, concrete
we fell. Houses set ablaze, windows
broken, glass strewn about like the pieces of
a once perfect puzzle of life. Not for theft, not for murder.
Herded like cattle, we were savagely forced onto
train cars. Our destination as mysterious as
the universe. Marching, gunfire, hard,
grueling labor. Six million of
us, together on a small
notch in the timeline.
Bound together
as one in
faith.
